York 863 will give you good audio these days as nobody messes them up . Don't get a midland or any other maplin tosh . I had a York 863 in it when I had it and it sounded ace on audio and signal . I will be riggin my chevy out with one too for the shows etc . Looking at getting another cobra148gtl-dx but may go with the York to save some dish .

only looking at spending about £50, was sooooo close to getting a midland rig on ebay! (Am I right in thinking I just put power to it from the dak, plug in the ariel and give myself a really cool handle, like "fork")

The audio on a midland is crap . It will make your ears bleed trying to listen through the crackle and hiss lol . You can pick a good cb up on eBay at that budget . Go for a York smaller model or a harrier cbx . Audioline or uniden are also pretty good on audio .
I would prefer a beaten up audioline/ York over a brand new midland any day .

I've just given my Dakar a service in anticipation of the pre show nerves. Might even get the jet wash out later.
See you all at the show.
No getting cold for us this year!

Hi All Long time since I've been on and much has happened.
I will be at Stoneleigh but not camping this year.
Last year I was 4 months into retirement, this year I'm five months into a new business. Southways Automotive Ltd. started business just before Christmas to build, repair, service etc. kitcars and performance cars. Things have gotten pretty manic and we are working all the hours we can. Add to that we have also bought the manufacturing rights for the Tiger Cat range of Seven type cars which we will sell as the Southways Sports cars (SSC) Super Cat & Super Cat XL.
Will come down and say hello. look out for us in Hall 2 (can't remember our stand number)

OK, not sure where everyone is, but this week I am determined to organise a convoy on the way up there! current plan is.....Kevin leaves his at probably around 11:30, arrives Romford around 12 ish, can meet people at Thurrock Services (M25), going anti clockwise, so will include South Mimms, then up the M1 and across the M6.
So......Any takers? (Tea and biscuits available at hours from 12....ish!) Let me know!!!
