Right so who's coming to this show then ? This is going to be the last of the year for me and I've checked with both the met office and God, and they both say the weather is going to be fantastic ;D ;D ;D I've booked us a stand/area 'allcarclub' rules ;D Jason have you got the banner ? and are you bringing your big tent/marque ? Anyone know if Simon is alive and going to attend or is he on holiday Ha Jason have you still got those car detail stands you made for Donnington last year as they were really cool, be good if we could use those again. ;D and don't forget the Kite as I want to get some pic's of you flying ;D Mike have you made your mind up yet I for one want to see and drive the 'new toy' ;D ;D ;D

Three hour run for me and probably burning more fuel than most.
I doubt I will be in the Dakar as I'm waiting for my SVA date and doubt it will be in time for both the test and registration assuming it passes.

I thought it was classed as a re-body. Sorry if I've missed something

it is a matter of preference for the builder,, i think steve is going for the new number plate registration for his dakar , i did enquire when i built mine and dvla said it would not need it if i build it properly

If you built the Hibak then you don't need SVA because you have not modified the chassis. Chopping 18" off the back of the chassis means it must have a new chassis number and requires SVA.
Both VOSA and DVLA were quite clear on this.

dvla must be having a good day when they change the logbooks to read cabriolet or convertable then on most peoples dakar,, this is what i was told,, the bit that gets removed is load bearing on a discovery ,, but then a mot station that operates by dvla code will recognise that this part is no longer load bearing on a dakar, therefore as it is more than 30cm away from any components the bit that gets removed could be as rotten as a pear and fall off ,,and the car would still pass mot ,, all the demonstraters that have been sold for road use did not seem to require sva, and demonstarators are clearly driven to shows by the company for displaying
