if u wana make it easyer as a quick fix turn it on till it gos out then turn it off and back on do this 3 - 4 times and it will start, as for the timer i wod agree it will be expencive for that car but try the motorr factors any way abm up my way are always very helpful, if u get one i can sort out picking it up and posting it to ya 0208 316 0400 giv them the reg no. they may be helpful

More likely you have a couple of duff glowplugs especially if they have been replaced by after market Blue ( something) ones. The aftermarket Pajero ones are Cr*p and have been known to fail in a couple of months. Whip them out and test them on a battery. The reason the timer relay is clicking off early is I suspect that it uses the resistance of the plugs to set the time delay ( as the plugs heat up, the resistance drops and triggers the timer to go off) If you have 1 or more plugs not working, there will be less resistance, and it will get to it's switchoff time a lot quicker. Worth checking out before you spend on a new timer

hi
just a note to add if your going down the push button route
your looking at a 40-50 amps in total across the glow plugs so some thick wire and switch needed
had the same thing on my old car ended up using a 80 amp relay worked a treat
