My Dakar has been in www.footloose4x4.co.uk (where a friend of mine works) for a few days for a full safety check. Though it prudent to get it checked over now that I have done about 1000 miles in it (already!) I also wanted to ensure that the wheel bearings were ok as I just tightened by hand. Footloose 4x4 are specialists in building Expedition Vehicles mainly Land Rovers, so they know a thing or two about modifying Land Rovers and off roading. They said my Dakar was really well built and they loved it. (I know - I kept getting messages from people who had seen it all over town!!!) Gave me a few little minor jobs to do this weekend and they sorted out one bearing on the front and stopped the rear brakes from screeching too! I also had managed to damage one of the front brake pipes, already so I now have a shiny new one. I was well chuffed that it got a clean bill of health and now I am confident I haven't overlooked anything. They are desperate to drop a 4.6l lump in there though!
