Hi popuptoaster
That car is sweet and I just love it work hard mate. I nearly put a 3000 motor in my second car a Cortina mark 2 1600 E. I had the engine all lined up but saw a Nova up for sail. It was not a no brainier choies Nova or savage Cortina. But just before I made my dection the cortina had a flatty after jacking it up to put on the spair. The NSF wheel did not leave the ground. I am a good greace monky dection made Nova.

Heres the latest lot of instalments, some problems reared their ugly heads but nothing serious. The hole for the loom cut and strengthened. room for the loom with the engine in But not for this rad or the sump or the offside fannymould This is down to the engine mounts being home made by the previous owner I think, were probably fine for the 2.8 that was in it before but not the 24v, taps spaced the engine up 1/4" on the mounts and as the pics show there still isnt room. Gearbox mount lines up ok though 2wd Sierra prop is the same diameter as the Cortina one though so making a prop will be ok.

It dont have to be on the grass to draw circles, it will spin the wheels in frst or second without any effort at all and will go sideways in third if the road is damp, its a bit lively, i think thats down to the gearing though as it was running the 1600 axle still (till i melted it anyway) it was hitting the redline in 5th at 130mph!! I am gonna be fitting a stronger, higher geared axle to it (its sposed to arrive today) so it will hopefully be a bit more controllable in the lower gears although im hoping it wont knock to much of the acceleration as it was fast enough to keep up with me mates RS Focus up to 130mph. Should improve my MPG as well although at an average of 30.2mpg its already pretty good.
