April 6th Tixover Quarry

Today Hana and I went doing what Dakar's do best... ...Zooming round abandoned quarry's.

And for once we did not forget our camera, only the battery was flat!

Lucky Hana has a camera phone so we took a few pics for you all.

The look on my face as Hana descents a vertical on 3 wheels, priceless!

The next second the rear N/S wheel was 4 feet in the air!!! Thanks Hana!!!




Stuck! and Yes snorkels do like eating dust!



You cant stand Dakar's on the rear bumper ( I hope! ) ;D


This poor old boy just couldn't get his defender to the top of this well rutted and pitted hill.

The organiser told me "Your Dakar looks amazing going up there, so gracefully and effortless, which was a great compliment for HANA as she drove it!!!"

Thanks to my old friend Bob who gave us some lessons and ended up with 2 inches of silt in the foot-well of his Defender. Your phone IS in there somewhere mate! LOL



We had a great day out, there is a burger van too so dont miss out next time.

sorry i miss out. was going to come over and have a look. but claires m8 come over that she not seen for a long time so we had nipe out for a bit. but it was to late to come over as i no it close at 4pm so there was no pont coming over at 3. did you see when the next one will be as it is at the gate as you come in ya. and will come down to that one but not take the truck offroading. but might have more come with me as will. going to sort out a greenland day as my m8 has found a greenland from boston to skeggy so that will be a good one. going to have a look one day. and then sort a day out if we get alot of us can bring some bbq and stop and have food and drink if it is not a bad day. but will keed you up to date what is going on if you is up for it. i will post up when it is going to happen and try and get a map up on it.

Looks like a great day, cant wait to get in the rough stuff again. The Dakar looks great too, what tyres have you got on it?
