Need help plz.

Hi all.
or here we go. i have got a pajero 2.5 auto 90-91 can someone tell me what this silver box is for? as when i am runing the truck it get very hot and i meen hot and there is a clicking nose coming from it as well. and when i look at my volt metre in the truck it sit at 13/14 but as soon as it click it go down to 12 then back up and it do it all the time. it is doing my head in now so just hope i can get some help.

All i can say is that it looks very much like the 20yr old fuel pump relay i had under the drivers seat in my dakar donor, it used to get hot and click like mad non stop until it began to melt and then just stoped, so without fuel to the enging and no markings on it to source another it was three trips to various scrapyards to find another one!. someone later said it was probably a bad earth on the fuel pump causing the relay to constantly switch!.
Anyhow hope im not sending you on a goose chase, cheers Kevin

thanx for this will have a look in to this and see if the earth is all ok on it. but i was told it might be a glowplug ecu as well? as i have got twin glow plug solonoid's so just dont no till look in to it more and get more help of the good old net.

i bet the mitsubishi garage will know what it is
