Hi Simon, Jason and all. I’m back from Spain for good. When you’ve been there for over 2 years, enough is enough. Ha Ha. Anyway, Christmas before last I started building another Eagle RV. I’ve fitted the ford 2.9 V6 Cologne engine and auto box from a standard Granada Scorpio. The approximate year of this Granada is about early 1990’s. When I bought the Granada it ran great. I fitted it to my new chassis and took off all the electronics, ECU, injectors, air intake etc, and fitted a different air intake manifold and twin carb. (I don’t know what engine the new air intake is from, but it fits and works fine). As it is now, the engine starts and ticks over fine, but the car is only half built so I can’t road test it. The problem I have is the distributor does not have an advance, (Because of course it didn’t need it with the engine management system) and of course its not going to run properly in normal road use. Can anyone advise me of anywhere in the UK I can get a distributor with the correct advance mechanism. I believe these things where not factory made or mass produced anywhere. So I think I’m gonna have to talk to specialist distributor modifiers. Hopefully before I come to Stoneleigh next week. See you there. Thanks to all. Jeff.

You could fit Megajolt on it which would give you the spark control but using your fixed dizzy. Or go the whole hog and fit Megasquirt using your original efi inlet manifold.

Hi Steve n Jason, thanks for that. I spoke to Burton power early last year and they said they could sort me out for £255.00, but I spoke to them today Tuesday, and they said they don’t and never have done that sort of thing. Don’t know what that was about. Anyway they did put me on to another guy in Dudley who can modify the 2.8 / 2.3 dizzy using bits from my 2.9 dizzy and make me a good’n at a cost of £120.00 including the electronic ignition spark thingy box. As you may have noticed, me not being too technical I said I’ll nip down to his workshop and see him, to make sure we where on the same page. He said come anytime except for this coming weekend as he is doing the Stoneliegh show. What a stroke of luck. I said I’ll see him there. Just for a good bit of info the guy in Dudley is called Phil, his company is called H&H Ignition Supplies, and the phone number is; 01834 261500. I’ll let you know how it goes when I fit it.
Jason I think I read somewhere on this site some time ago, that the All Car Club at Stoneliegh is somewhere near the Eagle Owners club. Is that still the case for this year. Bfn, Jeff. P.S. Looking forward to seeing your Dakar.
